During onboarding, you'll be asked to connect your CRM! If you're on Kustomer, please proceed below:
- Select Kustomer from the ticket CRM dropdown.
- Now, to connect everything up, you'll need to generate a Kustomer API token to authenticate API requests. Please make sure that you select the following roles when generating the API key: org.admin, org.hooks, org.user, org.permission
- You'll find a comprehensive guide to Generating API Tokens on Kustomer's Help Center here.
- But, we've also pulled out the key bits for you below
- Once you've copied your token in, click "Test Token"
- If it says "Invalid token", please double check your subdomain, email, and token details.
- If successful, it should give you a count of tickets!
- Click "Setup Client" and give it a few seconds to complete setup!

Who can access this feature?
- Admins can access these settings by default.
- Custom permission sets can grant Security permissions to let other users access the API Keys settings.
- Available to all organizations on Enterprise and Ultimate plans.
Create an API key
Admins and other users with Security permissions can create and manage API keys from the Kustomer Settings.
To create a new API key:
- Go to Settings
and select Security > API Keys.
- Select Add API Key.
- A popup will appear to edit your new API key. Start by giving the new API key a name. We always recommend as a best practice that you use clear and illustrative names, so that it's easy to know what function this API key performs if another member of your team reviews it at a later date.
- Under Roles, select the necessary roles required by your integration. You can select multiple values.
- In the Expires menu, select the number of days that the API key should remain valid before it expires.
- Once you're satisfied with your selections, select Create to finish creating the new key.
- On the confirmation screen, you'll be shown your new key. For security reasons, this is your one and only chance to copy the key. Select Copy Token
to copy the hash to your clipboard.
You can now add the API key to your app integration.
